Wow! This starts blog book #11 (about one each year of our kids' lives). Disclaimer though: I haven't blogged since fall 2021 though and it's now summer 2022 so I definitely have some ground to make-up. Let's try to recap with some of the best photos from November until now (May 30th-Memorial Day). Well I just went through my photos thinking I would choose my top 50 to upload and instead I selected 300 (whoops). I tried to narrow it down a bit. Here are my quick thoughts.
Riley survived 6th grade! Great grades, good friends, tough classes, uniform policy, Mr. Small/GT Math, and canteen--just a few highlights.
We celebrated with a end of year playdate with snacks, laser tag, and lots of laughter!
Maggie got to celebrate her birthday a tad early. Tabitha, her sweet birthmom, sent her some awesome coloring books and some glow-in-the-dark stars for her room (she can't wait to use them in her room makeover this summer). And then she got to celebrate with Nan and Pap over Memorial Day holiday (playing at the pool, eating out at Fuji Hibachi Japanese Grill, shopping for her room makeover, and celebrating at Spare Time Entertainment).
I got 2 grants this year from the Rock Hill Schools Foundation and I'm super excited to use them at Oakdale. I have absolutely LOVED my job as a Title 1 Math Interventionist! Our traditional Last Day of School photos....
Began our Spring Break 2022 with a breathtaking view and ended our week with Easter and another breathtaking event as well (Maggie's baptism by Pastor Ben in the Catawba River).
Fall Fun with Friends...I'm so glad these "characters" are in our lives!!!
Love these action shots...full of joy...at the simple things...like bubbles!
Serving (at House of Agape with our church...Vineyard) and Snuggling (on the couch with Dad)
Sweet Tea 10K (we ran it together and got to celebrate in Summerville)
Thanksgiving at Aunt Melissa's and Uncle Rodgers (complete with all kinds of amazing foods, family, and virtual Family Feud games)
Christmas kicks off at Penland Tree Farm each year...this year the wait was REALLY long!
But so worth it...look at my 2 sweeties growing up! :)
Maggie rocked another season of Hip Hop!
Advent Season is always one of my favorites! So many "sweet" activities and traditions as well as the "sweetest" Baby Announcement ever...Jesus!
#AlecTakesAGamble was a success!! Emily and Alec tied the knot in December!
Wordle is all the rage this year! Easter was a life-giving family affair!
Billy Joel came to town with 35,000 of our closest friends including Brian and Pat!
Riley turned 12 and takes on trombone!
Selfies with my sweethearts!
This girl has a BIG heart for helping others! She made food bags for 2 hours this past May to send to Ukraine and she applied for 5th Grade Safety Patrol and was selected from many different students for her leadership and care!
Grand Canyon and Page, Arizona with my family was HANDS DOWN one of the best trips of my life! I'll create a whole different book to narrate our adventures a little more, but suffice it to say that while it had its ups and downs (flat tires, sand storms, antelope slot canyons, games, fire pit pictures and songs, dramatic views, and long distances finally bridged)....it was absolutely GRAND!!!
Not sure why these Christmas pics are so out of order, but these 2 darlings are a GIFT every day of the year!
Goodbye 2021...time to welcome in NEW colors, NEW adventures, NEW friends, and NEW changes!
Riley and his carpool crew-Gabe and Isaac!
Snow'one loves you like we do! Family is FOREVER!!
Daddy and his girls!
QT with my Cutie
Friends and family make life extra rich!
New Friends and Old Friends....Love them ALL!
So thankful God gave us taste buds....anyone else?? :)
As we make tracks into the rest of 2022...remember this sweet family....
1) We serve a Majestic, Creative, and Caring God (Psalm 95:4-5 In His hand are the depths of the earth and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land." Nature points to a Creator that is detailed and delighted. He values art in all forms, especially us!
2) You reflect so many beautiful traits! As parents nurture children, they build character by the choices and conversations that occur. As Your Heavenly Father made you in His image, you too, reflect His character. His sense of justice, joy, and jubilation are evident in these "images" above. Do you see how His goodness is coming out in your actions? I hope so! It is!
3) Celebrate the good with the bad. The 6th grade awards and 4th grade Last Day of School pictures didn't show the hours worth of stressful projects, difficulties with peers, the tears, laughter, hard work, and lessons learned. You both grew so much through these trials and persevered despite great obstacles. The sense of accomplishment is great because you sacrificed, suffered some, and stood tall as an example to others. You darling children (and husband) can move mountains with just a mustard seed of faith! Keep on climbing! Much love, Mom
