An Egg-cellent Easter Weekend

We kicked off our Easter weekend by stuffing ourselves silly at Captain Steven's with Nan and Pap Friday night after bowling together. Later, Paul and I watched The Passion (which is a Good Friday tradition I started doing last year). The next morning, we had to say goodbye to Nan and Pap and then the kids got to participate in a neighborhood Easter egg hunt.

Maggie had to stop and open everyone she found to let me know if it had jelly beans inside or not. :)

Riley was just focused on finding a large quantity of eggs. He ended up with 13, but just wait until in the day to hear how he did at Rodger and Melissa's!

In the afternoon, we went over to Rodger and Melissa's new house in Clover that they had custom built. It was a beautiful home with 4 bedrooms, a media room, a piano room, an office for Rodger since he works from home, a homework/family computer area, and a large kitchen and living room area. All of my dad's siblings were able to attend-Jeannie came with and Lane and Renee and Cal had their entire crew there as well- Andrew (his wife, April and son McCall), Brad, and Caroline (and her husband Tripp). We ate a delicious meal of ham, mac and cheese, green beans, butternut squash, pea salad, biscuits, strawberry pretzel salad, fruit salad, banana pudding, berry cobbler, and Rice Krispie treats. Then Dylan and Brooke were kind enough to hide LOTS of eggs for the 3 youngest kiddos to find. Again, Maggie went through her stop and open every egg stage and this time Riley managed to accumulate 102 eggs! We had a great time catching up with everyone and enjoying the spring weather!

On Sunday, an Easter Bunny left his tracks and brought the kids their baskets.

Here are my little sweeties on the porch before church (as you see, I still haven't figured out how to get a picture with both kids' eyes open at the same time).

We just grabbed a simple sandwich and salad from Just Fresh after church since we had our big meal the day before. Even though our family picture isn't perfect, I love these shots we captured at the table while eating together!
